TVET Stakeholders Reaffirm Commitment to Skills Development and National Transformation

16 October 2025 — The Quarter 1 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Sub-Sector Working Group (TSSWG) meeting brought together key stakeholders to advance Rwanda’s TVET agenda and strengthen its alignment with the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2) and Vision 2050.

In his opening remarks, Minister of Education Dr. Joseph Nsengimana emphasized the importance of the TSSWG as a strategic platform for collective reflection and coordinated action. He highlighted major milestones achieved through ongoing reforms, including the establishment of TVET Centres of Excellence, the digitalization of training programmes, and strengthened industry partnerships that connect education to employment.

Dr. Nsengimana called for renewed collaboration among government institutions, the private sector, and development partners to build a responsive, inclusive, and future-ready TVET system that empowers youth and drives Rwanda’s socio-economic transformation.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on NST2-aligned TVET targets, progress updates on Centres of Excellence, digital innovation in training delivery, and new initiatives from development partners aimed at enhancing sector resilience and relevance.

The meeting concluded with stakeholders reaffirming their shared commitment to equipping Rwandans with market-relevant skills, fostering innovation, and boosting productivity across all sectors of the economy.
