RTB and Partners Assess TVET Progress and Define Future Priorities at Q3 Sub-Sector Working Group Meeting

On February 14, 2025, Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) and its Development Partners convened for the Quarter 3 TVET Sub-Sector Working Group Meeting. The gathering brought together key stakeholders from the TVET sector to assess past achievements, evaluate ongoing projects, and strategize for future initiatives. The discussions aimed to ensure that TVET development remains aligned with the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2).

In his opening remarks, Dipl.-Ing. Paul Umukunzi, Director General of RTB, acknowledged the pivotal role of stakeholders in advancing TVET initiatives. He commended their dedication and emphasized that collaboration has been instrumental in meeting targets set during previous meetings.

“The TVET sub-sector in Rwanda has made remarkable strides, thanks to your unwavering commitment and support,” he stated. He also stressed the importance of sustained cooperation in addressing emerging needs and enhancing future outcomes.

The meeting provided a platform for in-depth discussions on key priorities, including:

  • The operationalization of the Rwanda TVET Trainers Institute (RTTI)
  • The integration of e-learning and digitalization in TVET programs
  • Advancing TVET excellence in agriculture
  • Preparations for the Rwanda Future Skills Forum, set to take place in Kigali later this year

The Q3 TVET Sub-Sector Working Group Meeting reinforced the commitment of all stakeholders to strengthening Rwanda’s TVET ecosystem. By fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and aligning efforts with national priorities, the participants reaffirmed their dedication to equipping Rwandan youth with the skills needed for the future.
