Opening the workshop held in Musanze District from Tuesday 11th January 2022 to 26th January 2022, HoD in charge of Curriculum and Instructional Materials, Aimable RWAMASIRABO said that the revision has the aim of making the curricula more relevant and responsive to the current labour market needs and aligned to national priorities.
“This also is in the same line with recently restructuring of TVET programs by the Ministry of Education in order to strengthen the TVET system in terms of delivering the programs that meet the labour market needs, improving the TVET program to articulate the pathways and improving the range and scope of skills and knowledge to be imparted to TVET students.” He added.
As stipulated in the Ministerial Order N° 002/MINEDUC/2021 gazetted on 20/10/2021 establishing curriculum in general, professional and technical and vocational basic education, the former Hospitality and Tourism sector that had 5 programs namely, Food and Beverage services, Front Office operations, housekeeping operations, culinary arts and tourism now have 3 programs.
