Rwanda TVET Board signs MoU with NBTE and RCI

Kigali-1st December 2022: Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Nigerian National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) and Rwanda Cooperation Initiative (RCI) that intends to provide a framework for cooperation to foster collaboration in technical skills development. 

The MoU was signed by the Director General of RTB, Dipl.-Ing, Paul UMUKUNZI, IDRIS Bugaje, NBTE Executive Secretary and Makuza Jean Freddie, Rwanda Cooperation Initiative’s Chief Finance Officer.

Through this MoU, RTB and NBTE will be able to collaborate in different areas that include the exchange on policy development, Exchange in career and curriculum development process as well as cooperation in the development and implementation of National/Skills Qualifications Framework, and the establishment of technology hubs and particular skills that both countries need.

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria by Act 9 of January 1977 and it is mandated with the accreditation of academic programmes in all Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) institutions and the recommendation of the establishment of Private Polytechnics and Monotechnics in Nigeria among other responsibilities.
