On Friday, 12th August 2022, Rwanda TVET Board held the 1st Graduation ceremony of 580 Dual Training apprentices trained with the support of Enabel’s Urban Economic Development Intervention (UEDi) Project.
The graduates were trained in five trades namely Building construction, Carpentry, Domestic electricity, Welding and Plumbing through the partnership between TVET schools and construction companies & craftsmen. Trainees spend three months at school and the other three months in the workplace.
Both school trainers and In-company Instructors (ICIs) collaborated to facilitate trainees in acquiring a series of theoretical and practical hands-on skills relevant for the labor market. Three selected schools that delivered the programs are Ecole des Sciences et Technique – EST Busogo, Saint Kizito Musha and Saint Martin Gisenyi
In his key note speech, the Director General of RTB, Dipl.-Ing. Paul UMUKUNZI recommended Enabel for contributing to the future of work through supporting the Dual training program where 580 trainees who graduated managed to acquire hands-on skills that will help them earn a living.
