RTB CONDUCTS TVET AWARENESS CAMPAIGN IN GENERAL EDUCATION SCHOOLS

Rwanda TVET Board conducted a country-wide TVET awareness campaign in general education schools with Ordinary Level students. 

The 3-week campaign run from 6th to 24 March 2023, and reached Lower students and teachers from 80 schools.

Students were given more explanation programs offered in Technical Secondary Schools (TSS) and opportunities that include but are not limited to acquiring job-ready skills and experience leading to employment, Vertical mobility pathways to engineering programs.

The staff from Rwanda TVET Board reminded them that the current labour market requires a workforce with strong technical skills and competencies and that enrolling in one of the programs offered in TSS is a big step towards a successful life.

To transform Rwanda into a knowledge-based economy, the National Strategy for Transformation I (NST 1) has set a target for TVET to absorb 60% of all 9 Years Basic Education graduates by 2024 (from 31.1% in 2017).
