PRIME MINISTER NGIRENTE JOINS THOUSANDS OF TEACHERS IN THE CELEBRATION OF THE 21ST WORLD TEACHER’S DAY
Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente joined over 7,000 teachers from across the country for the celebration of the World Teachers’ Day. This ceremony took place at BK Arena on November 2nd 2022.
Conveying President Paul Kagame’s message, the Prime Minister said that the Government of Rwanda fully supports teachers adding that the World Teachers’ Day is a good opportunity to appreciate the important role that teachers play in the development of countries.
He reminded teachers that they have a key role to play for Rwanda to achieve its target of becoming of knowledge-based economy, urging them to be committed to improving ICT and English language skills as well as embracing innovation in education in order to improve the quality of Education.
In this ceremony, 5 best performing teachers in TVET and General Education were awarded motorbikes, and among them is Ndabahariye Jean Aime, a teacher at Welcome to Saint Joseph Integrated Technical College, a private Technical Secondary School located in Nyarugenge District. 5 others received motorbikes for efficiency use of Umwalimu Sacco’s loan.
