150 TSS teachers graduate from ICDL blended training modules

This Wednesday, 12 October 2022, Rwanda TVET Board holds a graduation ceremony for 150 Technical Secondary Schools (TSS) teachers who completed blended training courses on the International Certificate Driving License (ICDL) modules.

These teachers were trained by Edified Generation with the support of the Rwanda TVET Board, under the Skills Development Program.

In his welcome remarks, the Edified Generation Executive Director, Valens Ntirenganya, congratulated certified teachers and encouraged them to apply the digital skills they gained as in the modern system of education only a digitally literate teacher will able to keep his teaching job.

The importance of this kind of training was emphasized by the Director General of Rwanda TVET Board, Paul UMUKUNZI, who said that having teachers with Computer skills like Computer essentials, Online essentials, Word processing, and IT security is beneficial to cope with a rapid ICT driven World.

“we will continue to have many initiatives like this ranging from offering basic ICT training to our teachers, availing our teachers with some ICT devices like Computers to equipping our schools with modern ICT Infrastructures to produce competent graduates.” He added.

The 150 certified TSS teachers are from Gicumbi, Gatsibo, Nyamagabe, Rusizi and Gasabo.
